You are responsible for booking your own flight to and from Cuba. We always suggest booking your airfare to arrive as early in the day as possible (no later than 3pm local time), so you have the day to get settled and relax before the trip officially begins.
If applicable, we will provide ground transportation to and from hotel/resort for our guests.
You are more than welcome to book your travel to arrive early and/or late for any of our trips. If you choose to do so, you will be responsible for the cost of your room at the hotel/resort as well as arranging transportation to/from the airport if they are out of our specific travel dates. We will do our best to work with the hotel/resort to give you the same rate that our group will receive for the retreat. Contact us prior to booking your airfare so we can confirm the rate of your room.
All trip packages are non-refundable. We strongly advise our guest to purchase “Cancel For Any Reason” Trip Insurance. We encourage guests to confirm availability and check airfare before booking experiences.
Travel insurance is not mandatory; however we highly recommend you do purchase it. If you choose to do so, we suggest that you add “cancel for any reason” to your policy. Although normal trip cancellation will cover you for illness or injury, or for a travel companion’s illness, injury or death, it is limited to these. With “cancel for any reason” you will receive a percentage (usually 75%-100%) of all pre-paid costs. With this coverage if something comes up, a wedding, a new job opportunity, etc. or if This Girl Goes Travel has to cancel due to weather, staff injury or illness or other unforeseen reasons, you will be covered. We suggest this policy from Travel Guard or similar: Travel Guard – Gold (Protect Assist) w/ Cancel for any reason http://www.travelguard.com/ *Travel insurance needs to be purchased within 15 days of your trip deposit.
Unfortunately, all TGG Experiences are non-refundable. You can transfer your trip to someone else but without purchasing trip insurance, there aren’t many options.
Cuba uses two currencies, Cuban Peso (CUP) or the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC). Most tourists use CUC, but both are legal tender and both can be used on your trip. You can exchange your currency at the airport, various hotels, and local exchanges. The exchange rate is complicated, so do your research prior to arriving.
Every traveler is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travelers may eat more than others while other travelers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping.
